Hi Paradise Swim School followers, it is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that I am closing Paradise Swim School in order to start my financial planning practice. While I am so sad to say goodbye to my swim students, I am really excited to become an expert in finances and investing and help people reach their financial goals and dreams! Did you know that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends swim lessons for everyone above age 1 that doesn’t know how to swim as a layer of drowning prevention. This article has some good basic tips about what to look for in a swim program.

Make sure you do this! So important.

Tip Tuesday: Adult First + Password Second

Create a water smart routine where the adult / parent / guardian enters the water first and then invites the kids in by asking for the “password” or having them ask for permission.

We always used a fun and memorable password like “popsicle” or “hippopotamus” that they would have to say before being cleared to enter.

Adding this water smart routine can get kids in the habit of making sure an adult is there and ready, and that they have permission to enter.

Teaching kids to have awareness and to start smart is important!

Many swim lessons programs or swim schools will create a permission sequence like this as well.
