We are USCG COI inspected .
Halibut and Striped bass fishing is great right now . We using light tackle and live and wiggling anchovies . Capt Mike , deckhands Robert welcome beginners and old farts … we just love to get out and away from cleaning yards and messy garages …

They’re here…Live Shinny Anchovies , swimming around in the tank . It’s that time of year . First of the season Halibut have already flip flopped into the fish box … Guess what this means ?…..….
( and yeah , before we put the anglers aboard , the deckhand , Rocky , and myself had to personally check out the bait to see if it works … It does …. See you all out here soon

Here’s the main reason it’s so tough to get a trip on a Saturday . We just have a few Open Saturdays left between now and 4th of July …That said , there’s lots of Sundays and mid week dates available .
We start fishing with live bait this upcoming Friday , May 8.
The bait tanks is charged up , a ton of custom tied leaders all tied up and ready to be rigged . It’s a really nice long season . So if you can’t get on right away , don’t worry . There will be great halibut fishing all the way through September .

Some of you may have noticed . The last few trips I didnt exactly have the usual bounce in my self . Poor Roberto, Robert , and Shannon , my crew, probably received an unfair grumble or two from me up in the wheelhouse . My right shoulder is pretty trashed . ( too many casts , i think ) , After recieving another vile grumble from me … The Doc has essentially shut me down for a spell . “ Stay the hell off it ! “ . “Give it a rest dammit ! “ , and “ get the hell out of those bilges! “……( I love him because he can dish it out as much as I can ) …. So , as I limit my boat trips , I’m stuck at home resting …And as promised , the right arm continues to rest and heal…. Not sure what sucks more , The pain …. Or not being able to climb around , and under , to get the boat ready for summer season . ( you guys only see me fishing , rarely do you see me doing all the other “ labors of love” ) . So much still has to get done . …. For years , you all know we start late , …. This year I think we’ll start Halibut Fishing in a few weeks … I’ve got some great folks helping me heal ……I’ll keep all of you updated …Don’t worry , I got a good feeling the fish will be there when we finally show up …..

Well it’s finally that time of year . The Worlds Greatest Bait Guys have filled their pens full of very lively 4 inch Anchovies . Perfect for that Halibut youve spent all winter thinking about . I’ve got a few things more to do on the boat . See the pictures ??? Yep , the big flat monster fish are returning back into the bay ….. You fried up the last of that delicious fish last December . And you’ve spent most of the new year tying up new hooks , ordering up squiggly skirts and flashers . Waiting . Waiting for the rain to quit . Waiting fir warmer weather . Waiting for the word . ( when the heck is Capt Mike gonna give up on those darn sturgeon and fish for the real chompers ?!!) Well this is the first whisper guys … The fish have shown up ! …. Take notice , the water is still muddy . And the weather forecast for the next couple weeks has rain in it ….. so things won’t be perfect . ……. You guys are all ex sturgeon geeks … you delight on bad weather … waves turn you on like you’re a surfer . It’s all about that herring spinning in the water . It’s about watching that rod twitch and bend …. And that reel scream ……. The first trip of the new 2025 season is Saturday March 15 is the first trip … As I write this the boat is empty … so text if you what a spot … 707 342 8481 …. Halibut is a go ….
