Clean water isn’t political. It’s personal.

Tomorrow, we will deliver our petition to Lincoln requesting that the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy and Environment hold a public hearing before making a decision on the proposed TK Angus hog facility.

In just over a day, more than 250 people have already signed. Thank you for standing with us.

New fire ban!

Look for elevated fire weather Wednesday until Tuesday for the area. Please pay close attention and be extra cautious.

There is smoke in the air from the Canadian Wildfires causing the haze so new smoke maybe hard to detect.

Explore Smith Falls as you float down the Niobrara National Scenic River this summer 🌞🏕️🛟

𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗚𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 is not an anthem we recommend while exploring historic Route 20.

Smith Falls located along the Niobrara National Scenic River and in Smith Falls State Park and 12 miles east of Valentine, Nebraska.

Smith Falls, at 63 feet (19 m), is the highest waterfall in the state of Nebraska.

The road to Smith Falls is along the original alignment of Route 20 through this part of Nebraska.

The falls are on a short spring-fed stream that plunges into a small canyon on the south side of the Niobrara. As the canyon is narrow and sheltered from direct sunlight, it is much cooler than the surrounding landscape; this allows a unique set of flora to grow that is atypical for the Sand Hills of Nebraska. The canyon is home to paper birch and an endemic hybrid grove of quaking aspen and bigtooth aspen.
