It’s a walk off!!!! We are so stoked to see a slapper at the plate with the game on the line. Jordin Washington makes a nice adjustment on the 0-1 pitch to drive in the winning run.

Notice how she keeps her hands high!

Ok are you guys ready for my most favorite tee progression just for slappers!! Here we go:

1. One Arms Crossed Over
- front arm to contact
- back arm to contact
- front arm to extension
- back arm to extension

2. Crossed Over
- both arms to contact
- both arms to extension

3. Falling thru it
- to contact
- to extension

3. Full footwork
- to contact
- to extension

4. Full slaps

* I recommend doing 10-15 for each drill... quality over quantity
* remember if you’re a natural righty who has switched over, that back arm might be difficult, but that’s why these drills are important

Coaches, are you tired of hitting ground balls? Then make your slappers hit them!

Self toss is a great drill for slappers. It helps with:

* tempo and footwork through the box

* awareness of the strike zone and understanding hitting a ball deeper in the will result in a higher bounce vs out in front will result in line drive or ground ball

* staying closed, hitting inside/top half of ball and moving towards the pitcher

Have your fielders work on:
* charging the high bounce and fielding on the short hop

* quick transfer and release for fielding an opposing slapper

*** this drill can be difficult for beginners. They may even swing and miss a few. Encourage them to have a smooth tempo and not toss the ball above their hips

Tasha is still the best! For the Hard/power slap it’s about trying to hit line drives up the middle!
My favorite home runs happen when a slapper hits a hard line drive to the gap and runs like crazy around the bases.
Don’t feel like you have to swing for the fence— use your speed and go for line drives.
