We are EXTREMELY disappointed to share that today’s rugby match at North Lowndes is cancelled.

Georgia Tech forfeited this morning and will not be traveling to town. They do not have enough players because a few of them are down sick.

We sincerely apologize- our entire CVL team was so excited. We aren’t giving up on bringing rugby back- stay tuned!

The FUJI BJJ Valdosta Spring Championship brought the heat to South Georgia today, with competitors traveling from across the Southeast and beyond to battle it out on the mats.

🥇This exciting and successful event was more than just submissions and medals; it was a win for our entire community. Athletes and families stayed in our hotels, dined in local restaurants, and shopped in our stores- all generating sales tax revenue that helps pave roads, fund schools, and build a stronger Valdosta and Lowndes County.

Compete Valdosta-Lowndes is proud to bring these tournaments home: where our local athletes can shine and our economy can thrive.

Tomorrow’s the big day!
Check out this behind-the-scenes look at setup for the FUJI BJJ Valdosta Spring Championship happening tomorrow at the VSU Rec Center. Mats are down, banners are up, and the energy is already building.

Hundreds of competitors will hit the mats and bring the heat tomorrow. CVL is proud to have recruited this event to town, bringing BJJ enthusiasts from Georgia, Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, and more.

Doors open at 8AM and spectators are welcome — see you on the mats!
