10/11/2023
First off I wanted to thank everybody for all the support that we’ve had throughout the years. It feels like many of you people are like family to us and we want you to know that we have appreciated you all over the past three years so much.
Secondly, it saddens me to say that come this Thursday, 10/12/23. We will have to shut down Operations at Sculpt24gym. Many people have been hearing rumors that we may be closing our doors and unfortunately I am here to you tell you all we were unable to obtain our new property in time to move. We have attempted many different avenues, however, were unsuccessful in our attempts to keep the business operational. Our building was purchased by Russell properties a company from Las Vegas who did not understand how integral our local Gym was to our community. We have attempted several negotiations with them, though unsuccessful, and unfortunately have not been able to reach any agreements to sustain our business at that location. We had plans to build an even bigger and better location, however because Russell properties was not able to give us enough time to secure that location we were unable to meet deadlines to move our gym to the new location. The cost of maintaining repairs and rent, at our current location have exceeded our profitability margins to provide you the type of facility and service that you have known to grow and love at our gym. I even was willing to negotiate the sale of the gym; however, we were unable to reach an agreement that made any financial sense to continue our operations.
Over the past three years because of my amazing staff, we have won two best in Georgia gym titles for 2021 and 2022. We have built partnerships with South Georgia Medical Center, which did not exist prior to us obtaining the gym as well as Valdosta high school and Moody Air Force base. It has truly been a privilege to serve all of Lowndes County.
I would like to apologize myself for not being able to bring you this information sooner however, I wanted to exhaust all possibilities to continue our operations before putting this out to the public until I absolutely knew there was nothing else we could do. I know many of you are quite passionate about our gym and the customer service we provide, but I beg that you do not take out any misguided passions on my staff. They had absolutely nothing to do with any decision-making. It is very easy to blame the bearer of bad news, but I take full responsibility. We have received some emotional emails and phone calls and my staff has been very gracious and patient with everyone because they had no idea what was going on until I told them here recently. Everything I did was done to try to protect my employees and provide you all with a clean safe place to workout in. Please be kind to the people that took care of you all over the past three years they deserve that.
We will be working with you all to close out this chapter appropriately. I hope that you can remember us for all the good things that we brought to the community. The Vaccine drives when no one else would promote them so we could protect the health of Lowndes County. The health conferences we provided at our gym for community education. The Fitness parties that we did every month to show our members how much we appreciated them and all the free food we provided to the members of our Gym. The sponsorships we provided for the high schools and businesses and athletes. These are all things that were made possible by your support and believe me when I say, you will be greatly missed.
Sincerely,
Charles Gloster
