Stopped by to visit Keith, the one who saved my life years ago and didn’t know it. He is the new owner of Independent Fabrication bicycle frames now located in Lynn Mass.

I met him when I worked as a frame builder there years ago. Great to see him keep the brand alive!

Entroducing my new whip: Champagne Supernova aka Cervelo Aspero GRX.

This bike has been on my mind for the last few years, ever since I first saw it. In the past I had a Cannondale Synapse EF Team Edition, but the widest tire I could fit was a 32mm file tread.

Since I wasn’t a Cervelo dealer I had to ride what I sold. Gravel bikes were always too “slow” handling, I really wanted an all road bike.

Now that I no longer own the shop, I can ride what I want. It was a no brainer when I saw it came in pink…this is my fourth pink bike.

There are two great loops to choose from and they’ll be fresh apple cider and donuts at the rest stop!!

All money raised is used for a trade school scholarship for a Chatham High school student.

Some of you may have heard the news, Velo Domestique is changing hands to my good friend Paul Rinehart. He owns The Spoke in Williamstown, MA and is a Kinderhook resident.

I first met Paul working with Mavic Service Course at races in North America in 2012. We have shared a lot of time together and had many laughs. He’s a great fit for you and the community.

I’m not going anywhere, so if you see me at say hi and let’s catch up.

I’ll still keep this account going with my globetrotting adventures with the Department of Defense.

We received these turn of the century bicycle rollers from someone who was moving south. They belong to a family friend Harry “Jake” Pettit. He was a professional track cyclist in the early 20th century

Back then, track cycling was a popular sport because you could bet on the riders. Jake used to race in the Northeast, often at the original Madison Square Garden.

Attached are a couple of articles about his life and adventures. One of which was pulling over Babe Ruth!

For the past few years I struggled on how to display the rollers and keep Jake’s story alive. I am happy to announce with the help of our good friend we were able to donate them to the New York State Museum!

I don’t know when they’ll go on display, but we’ll keep you posted.
