I will be out of town for our next club meeting a week from Sunday April 26. The club will still be meeting at the library. John is standing in for me this time.
When I am not working at my part time job, I will be found at the Vail Public Library seated daily at the newspaper table. I play all comers from 2 to 5 every afternoon

The Birth of a Chess Genius

In 1892, a 4-year-old José Raúl Capablanca stunned everyone by learning chess simply by watching his father play. One day, he even pointed out an illegal move his father made… and then went on to defeat him! 😲

That little boy would later become World Chess Champion (1921–1927) and one of the greatest natural talents the game has ever seen. A true chess prodigy and timeless legend.
