Josh Cain had the lead. Francisco Knight still had one lap.

The No. 665 took the Stock Car checkered flag in a finish that deserves another lookβ€”and supplied one of the defining moments of Labor Day Weekend Night 2 at Vado Speedway Park.

Saturday's five feature winners:

- Cale Riggs, No. 96 β€” ninth to first in the Hulsey Racing INEX Legends; both weekend features won.

- Francisco Knight, No. 665 β€” ninth to first in the Extreme Landscaping USRA Stock Cars; the winning move came on the final lap.

- Caleb Saiz, No. 42 β€” fourth to first in the Gaerte Engines 360 Winged Sprint Series; the lead earned in traffic and protected through a final two-lap restart.

- Jonathon Ortega, No. 22 β€” pole to victory and $1,000 in the Anthony Sosa Roofing Late Models.

- Fito Gallardo, No. 07X β€” tenth to first in the Hacienda Carpet and Tile X-Mods; both weekend features won, with Rocko Gallardo second on Saturday.

The Stock Car podium started ninth, tenth, and eleventh. Riggs came through the fifth row on both nights. Gallardo won from tenth twice. There was a lot of racing between those starting spots and Rio Grande Waste Services Victory Lane.

Thank you to the fans, race teams, partners, and track crew who made Vado part of their Labor Day weekend.

Cain had the lead. Knight had the last answer.

Francisco Knight started ninth in Saturday's 20-lap Extreme Landscaping USRA Stock Car feature. The opening exchanges brought four-wide racing, with Shane McNutt and Rob Moseley in the fight and Knight continuing forward after getting against the backstretch wall.

Moseley reached the lead before pulling to the infield during the caution with 12 laps remaining. McNutt led the restart, while Knight and Josh Cain kept searching for a way through.

Cain found his opening down low and took the lead in the closing laps. Knight stayed in pursuit.

On the final lap, the No. 665 produced the winning run and reached the checkered flag ahead of Cain. Jonathan Burton completed the podium.

Knight started ninth. Cain started tenth. Burton started eleventh. They finished first, second, and thirdβ€”eight positions gained by every driver on the podium.

Francisco Knight takes the Night 2 trophy to Rio Grande Waste Services Victory Lane. Keep watching this one all the way to the stripe.

Same starting spot. Same winner. A different race to solve.

Fito Gallardo started tenth in both Labor Day Weekend X-Mod features. He won them both.

Saturday's 25-lap Hacienda Carpet and Tile X-Mod main began with Aiden Frazier setting the pace. Devon Jobin advanced from seventh and took the lead around the outside after the first caution, with Fito and Rocko Gallardo moving into the chase.

The next restart brought the decisive exchange. Fito challenged Jobin, cleared the fight, and began opening the distance. Rocko followed into second, making it a Gallardo one–two at the front.

Fito handled the closing traffic and finished ahead of Rocko, Jobin, Shane McNutt, and Christy Barnett.

The No. 07X won a heat and the feature on Friday, then did it again Saturday. Rocko's eleventh-to-second run gave the top two nine positions gained apiece on Night 2.

Two nights. Two heat wins. Two feature wins. Fito Gallardo closes the weekend in Rio Grande Waste Services Victory Lane.

Starting on the pole gave Jonathon Ortega the first opportunity. It did not spare him the final test.

The No. 22 set the pace in Saturday's 20-lap Anthony Sosa Roofing Late Model feature while Friday's winner Luke Vargas moved into contention and the battle behind them changed lanes and positions.

A caution with five laps remaining brought the field back together. Another incident stopped the race under red with three to go.

Ortega still had to launch cleanly and finish it.

He chose the inside for the final restart, kept the No. 22 ahead, and brought the $1,000 victory home to Las Cruces. Arturo Ordonez finished second from seventh, with Brandon Cruse advancing from eighth to third.

Special thanks to Grindell & Romero Insurance and Print Pros for the additional Late Model purse support across both Labor Day Weekend nights.

Jonathon Ortega finishes Night 2 in Rio Grande Waste Services Victory Lane.

Candelaria held him off in the heat. Riggs got another chance in the feature.

Cale Riggs started ninth in Saturday's 20-lap Hulsey Racing INEX Legends main event and worked his way to second behind Jerod Candelaria. With 11 laps remaining, a caution brought the two back together.

Candelaria chose the bottom. Riggs lined up outside him, then found an opening underneath as the race resumed. The No. 96 crossed into the lead with ten laps remaining.

Candelaria stayed in the fight, but Riggs eventually opened the distance and completed his second feature victory in as many nights. Candelaria finished second from fifth; Kyle Burnette took third from eighth.

Friday: tenth to first. Saturday: ninth to first.

Seventeen positions gained across two features. Both nights ended with Cale Riggs in Rio Grande Waste Services Victory Lane.

The pass took commitment. The finish took another restart.

Caleb Saiz stayed with Daniel Blaeser as the leaders worked through slower traffic in Saturday's 25-lap Gaerte Engines 360 Winged Sprint feature.

With ten laps remaining, Saiz sent the No. 42 through turn two and completed the slider for the lead. He began pulling away while Nick Parker and Aydan Saunders exchanged their own attacks behind him.

A late red flag removed the cushion Saiz had built. The finish came down to a single-file, green-white-checkered restart.

Saiz delivered those last two laps. Parker finished second, Saunders third, Lorne Wofford fourth, and Jesse Baker fifth.

Fourth to first for the Albuquerque driver. After finishing third Friday, Caleb Saiz closed his weekend with the Wing Sprint victory and a trip to Rio Grande Waste Services Victory Lane.
