I'm really sad to hear that Pat Caputo passed away today. Not only did I really enjoy listening to him on 97.1 for most of my life, one of my best college experiences was taking his sports writing class at OU. It was my favorite class.
One thing that really stuck out was on the last day of that class he told us that we had him for life, and in my experience, he really meant it. He was always there for me when I would ask for advice on an article or how to approach a situation as a student journalist. My favorite memory of Pat was when I had the opportunity to cover an OU vs MSU game at the Palace and Pat and I were both talking to Tom Izzo after the game and Pat did not big time me. He allowed me to go question for question as if I wasn't just a student reporter. It's kinda hard to explain but it's something that will stick with me forever. He was a really great guy. RIP my friend.
