Many of you who follow SRGS know that Mike lost his fight with Covid and passed away last month. We still have several messages/calls coming in from people who are unaware of this. Calls and messages are not being ignored, we are still just trying to figure out the next step. Mike’s top priority on the water was always make sure clients were learning and understood what was going on and why it was going on so they could go out the next day replicate the program and be able to have a good day on the water by utilizing what they had learned. And several times we would get calls and messages from those who had taken that information out, utilized it and capitalized on a good day themselves based on what Mike had taught them. Letting SRGS die with Mike is not an option and for now fishing charters are put on hold but providing our followers who are capable of getting on the water themselves with fishing and river condition reports will be top priority. Nate Teauseau, (for some reason the page won’t let the page tag his Facebook on the post) JJ DeBernardi and myself Brandon Heston will be on the water 2-3 days a week for the next couple months doing our best to provide weekly updates and reports on the river conditions, bites, ect just as mike did. For a weekend report on the Illinois river, the water temps were just below the 40 degree mark with about 2 feet of visibility, by the end of the day at the starved rock area, overall it was a great day of fishing on the river as we boated 30-40 nice sauger. Fish are being caught almost anywhere on almost anything from vertical jigging, pitching jigs, pulling live bait to trolling 3 ways and crank baits on leadcore around your typical spring time holes, clam beds Peru flats, and starved rock area to name acouple. And again please feel free to reach out to Nate, JJ or myself by messaging us personally and we’ll do our best to point you guys in the right direction and make sure you have the best day out possible until offering charters is back on the table. Thanks guys and tight lines!
