Job Summary:
Freedom Rail is looking for a professional, enthusiastic and friendly individual who enjoys history and the outdoors. Freedom Rail employees will provide guests with an exceptional experience on their journey along the historic Virginia & Truckee train route on rail bikes. In this role, employees will pedal along with groups down the Carson City Canyon. You will be responsible for engaging guests for the duration of the tour, sharing interesting facts about the history of the canyon, while answering any questions the guests may have. All employees will be trained and provided with written information to have on hand.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Greet all guests promptly at scheduled tour times
• Outline the tour and timeline before beginning
• Give Covid-19 regulation briefing
• Give safety briefing
• Clearly articulately and provide information to guests in an engaging manner
• Answer any questions that the guests have to the best of your ability
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of canyon history, V&T Railway and related topics.
• Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all times
• Cleaning and disinfecting equipment per Covid-19 guidelines
• Es**rt guests through the tour, taking breaks and provide refreshments.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Able to memorize history and safety talks
• Basic First Aid
• Customer Service Experience
• Physically fit, able to perform light exercise such as pedal a bike, and able to lift and move 100 lbs
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
• Able to be outside for an extended period of time

Job Summary:
Freedom Rail is looking for a fun, energetic, customer friendly and hard-working rail bike mechanic. The rail bike mechanic’s primary responsibilities include making sure rail bikes at the
V&T Railway are in good condition and safe for guests to ride. In addition, we will need assistance bringing the rail bikes in and out at the beginning of each day and at the end of each night. The bicycle mechanic’s job is very important as we depend on well-prepared bicycles to
make the customer’s experience. The bicycle mechanic reports to Freedom Rail managers, but is expected to be proactive and be able to manage his or her own time and responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of canyon history, V&T Railway and related topics.
- Remain calm, friendly, and enthusiastic at all times
- Repair, check, and fix rail bikes following Freedom Rail’s standards
- Prepare rail bikes on time for tours and other deadlines
- Keep track of any work done on rail bikes and update the database
- Keep the inventory of the workshop updated
- Provide feedback about rail bikes
- Be customer service oriented and personable
- Assist with related material (such as rail bike accessories, tools, tour preparation
materials) and inventory management as needed
- Cleaning and disinfecting equipment per Covid-19 guidelines.

Skills:
- Ability manage his or her own time
- Ability to prioritize good team player
- Able to problem solve and work in a fast paced environment
- Able to be in the heat or be outside for extended periods of time.

Bike Rail Mechanic Skills:
- Assembling rail bikes

Shifts will be split up between the days of Tuesday through Sunday into two shifts. Morning shifts will run from 7 a.m. to noon, and afternoon shifts will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
