First, we want to say THANK YOU to everyone who applied to be a Captain for the upcoming 2026-27 CIDL season. We had a great group of players step up and express interest in helping lead our league, and we truly appreciate everyone who took the time to apply.

After reviewing all of the applicants, the CIDL Committee is excited to announce our Captains for the upcoming season!

Congratulations to all of our Captains! 👏🏒

A few important updates for the upcoming season:

🏒 2026 CIDL Combine
Due to ice availability, we are changing the format of the Combine this year. Rather than holding a Combine for everyone, we are planning to hold it specifically for new players to the league and returning players who are looking to change levels.

The Combine is currently scheduled for October 18th at Casey’s Center, with two sessions running from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

📝 Registration - Fees will be $480 + USA Hockey Registration
We are looking to have registration open the first part of September. Our goal is to give returning players the first opportunity to register before opening registration more broadly, assuming Crossbar allows us to set it up that way.

📍 Location & Season Start
We will be playing the 2026-27 season at the Metro Ice Facility (SIG Sportsplex) in Urbandale. The East Rink is currently undergoing a full remodel, and the project is running behind schedule. We are hopeful that the remodel will be completed in time for us to start the season sometime in November. We will keep everyone updated as we get closer and have a better idea of the rink’s availability.

We’re looking forward to another great season and appreciate everyone who continues to make the Central Iowa D League such a great hockey community.

Dear CIDL Members-On behalf of DMYHA,

I would like to thank you for your patience and support as we work through plans for the upcoming CIDL season. We are actively working with our rink partners to secure ice time and remain committed to operating the league in a manner consistent with past seasons. While ice availability challenges are nothing new in the Des Moines hockey market, this is the latest obstacle we are navigating, and we are making every effort to find the best possible solution for our members.

Assuming current timelines remain on track, we anticipate opening registration on or before 8/15/26, with league play beginning in late October or early November. We will continue to provide updates as additional details become available.

Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and continued support of CIDL. We are proud of the league that has been built over the years and grateful for the strong relationship DMYHA has with its CIDL members. Your commitment to the program is what makes the league successful, and we look forward to another great season.

The rink is open! If looking for extra ice time this morning, there is a potential scrimmage at 9:30AM - 10:30AM. Possibility for more open ice if teams having to forfeit due to missing skaters throughout the day.
