The Weather had some rain plans in mind for Labor Day and unfortunately I'm sad to report that Birch Bark will be closed for the rest of the Holiday weekend. All reservations will be fully refunded.

The Team is trying to stay positive with the flooding, we will have some amazing water levels for Fall trips.

My plan is to remain open into October, we'll enjoy some fall camping, and OSU Football games. Your support into the fall would be beyond appreciated with this Season's unfortunate weather. Hope to see you on the River this Fall!

It's time to book your trip down the Mad River for Labor Day weekend! We are open Friday-Monday. The water level couldn't be any better for this time of year. We're going to be open into mid to late September with our current water levels. See you on the River soon!!

Here's the great news, Birch Bark is open this Weekend!! The Birch Bark Lumber Jacks are hitting the last part of the Tornado damage tomorrow to get the River open. The weather and the water levels are AWESOME for this time of year. This is a chance for some scenic Fall River Trips on the Mad River. The extreme weather had us in a tough spot, let's have some fun Fall trips on the Mad River.

I really hope this is the last post about the Tornado damage.

The water has been too swift for the Birch Bark Team to get the large trees cut from the water around the Livery. Due to the circumstances we will be closed Sunday August 23rd. Full refunds have been issued.

A warning to the public, please be incredibly careful around the trees in the River near the Livery. The water is deep and is still swift.

Unfortunately due to the weather we are going to be closed Friday and Saturday, August 21st and 22nd.

We're recovering from the Tornado on August 11th.

Weather permitting we'd love to be open on Sunday August 23rd.

The additional water will allow for trips down the Mad River to enjoy the fall colors and mild weather later into the season. Stay tuned for additional reservations into the fall.

Labor Day festivities are soon to be released, you'll want to book your trip for the end of season. More info to come.

Happy Friday River Fam, we're going to be closed this weekend, full refunds will be issued. Looking on the bright side, the flooding will give us great water depth going into the fall which can extend the season a couple weekends to get a unique fall trip on the Mad River without dragging or portaging, more info to follow post livery clean up this weekend. We're doing our best to get ready to be open next weekend, any one who wants to come out and volunteer on the clean up efforts will get a free trip on the River. We will be on site weather permitting starting Saturday morning 8.15...Thanks for keeping Birch Bark the best spot to enjoy the Mad River!!
