📢 [OTA Scholarship Application Reminder

The Ohio Taekwondo Association (OTA) scholarship application deadline is August 20.

If you are eligible, please make sure to submit your completed application and all required documents by the deadline.

Required Documents:
✅ Scholarship Application Form
✅ Proof of participation in the Ohio State Championship
✅ Proof of participation in the USAT Nationals
✅ Athlete Statement
✅ Signatures from both the athlete and the instructor

Please note: Applications must be submitted through your instructor. Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
We encourage all eligible athletes to apply. Best of luck to everyone!

2026 OTA Athlete Scholarship Application Reminder

Submitting a Nationals receipt alone is not a complete scholarship application.

All applicants must submit the official scholarship application form along with all required supporting documents, including:

Ohio State Championship participation record
USATKD Nationals participation record
Required verification/supporting documents
Approval/confirmation through your dojang G. Master

Scholarship applications must be submitted properly and completely.
Incomplete submissions or documents sent without proper Master confirmation may not be accepted.

Please contact your dojang Master/Instructor first and follow the official application process.

2026 USAT Ohio Athlete Scholarship Support Plan !

Dear G.Masters and Instructors,

The Ohio Taekwondo Association (OTA) is proud to support athletes who represente our state at the 2026 USA Taekwondo National Championships. In recognition of their achievements—and to help offset the cost of participating at the national level—we are pleased to announce the following 2026 Athlete Scholarship Support Plan.

1. Eligibility Criteria
Scholarships are open to athletes of all belt ranks who meet the following requirements:

Must be a legal resident of the State of Ohio.
Must have placed 1st through 4th at the official 2026 USAT Ohio State Championship hosted by the Ohio Taekwondo Association (OTA).
Must have competed in the 2026 USA Taekwondo National Championships.
Must have competed in one of the following official divisions:
1. Olympic Sparring
2. Recognized Poomsae

2. Scholarship Amount
Each eligible athlete selected for the scholarship will receive:

Scholarship Amount: $350 per athlete

3. Application Process
Athletes must submit the following by email to [email protected] no later than August 20, 2026, at 11:59 PM (Eastern Time).

Proof of participation/registration for the 2026 USA Taekwondo National Championships
(Optional) A brief personal statement explaining why they believe they should receive the scholarship.
If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the available scholarship budget, the OTA Executive Board reserves the right to review all applications and make the final award decisions.

4. Additional Information
Scholarships will be distributed following verification of participation in the USAT National Championships.
This scholarship program is intended to recognize athletic achievement, encourage continued participation, and support the development of Taekwondo throughout Ohio.

We sincerely appreciate all the athletes, parents, coaches, Masters, school owners, referees, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this event a great success.

Your support and cooperation mean so much to the Ohio Taekwondo Association. Our Executive Board will continue to work hard to serve and support our Taekwondo community with dedication and responsibility.

✅ Athlete Credential Pick-up

All athletes must present a valid ID when picking up their credentials.
Adult Athletes:

• Driver’s License
• State ID
• Passport
• Government-issued photo ID

Minor Athletes:
• School Student ID
• Passport
• Green Card
• Birth Certificate (Original or photocopy)

📢 Sparring Weigh-In Schedule Announcement

Weigh-ins will be held this Saturday, May 9th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

📍 Location: Upper Arlington High School Gymnasium (Competition Venue)

All athletes must complete their weigh-in during this time window. Please plan accordingly.

📢 Uniform Guidelines – Ohio State Championship (Next Week)

Dear Grand Masters & Coaches,

Please review the official dobok (uniform) guidelines for next week’s Ohio State Championship:

🥋 Sparring (Kyorugi)

* All athletes must wear a white dobok
* Black belts: white dobok with black collar trim
* Color belts: plain white dobok only

🥋 Poomsae

* All athletes must wear a white dobok
* Black belts (Dan holders): white dobok with black collar trim

🥋 Recognized Poomsae

* Athletes may wear the official poomsae uniform (male & female divisions)

🎗️ Belt Requirements (Color Belts)

* Only the following belts are permitted:
👉 Yellow → Green → Blue → Red
* Black belts must wear a black belt

✅ Please ensure all athletes are in full compliance with these regulations.
