Goldfish Swim School - Upper Arlington

Goldfish Swim School - Upper Arlington Teaching kids how to swim is our passion! Goldfish is much more than a swim school. You feel it the moment you walk in. Something different. Something unexpected.

Goldfish Swim School – Upper Arlington is a state-of-the-art swimming facility dedicated to teaching children as young as 4 months old. It’s more than vibrant colors chosen to inspire kids. More than a curriculum crafted to not only teach kids to swim but also to build their character through guided play. More than a shiver-free pool heated to 90 degrees. There’s something more. Something beyond t

ypical. It’s passion. Not just a passion for kids or a passion for swimming…it’s a special passion for changing – even saving – lives by teaching kids to swim and be safer in and around the water. We use our holistic philosophy, The Science of SwimPlay®, to build life skills both in and out of the water using play-based learning in a fun and safe environment. In a class size of no more than 4 children to 1 swim instructor, children master the skills they need to be safer and confident in the water. Beginning as early as 4 months, children progress through a series of perpetual swimming lessons, graduating to higher levels of difficulty as swimming skills are mastered. Goldfish also offers special events like parties, Family Swim, accelerated Jump Start Clinics and our Goldfish Swim Force Team, catered to swimmers who have completed the Goldfish Pro Level. Goldfish Swim School – Upper Arlington is proud to help teach the children of the great community of Upper Arlington, OH how to swim and be safer in the water. We encourage you to stop by for a tour of our facilities. We guarantee you’ll love it at Goldfish! To learn more, please visit www.goldfishswimschool.com.

At Goldfish, our monthly celebration for June is all about celebrating animals (and incorporating this into the curriculum that gets kids excited to learn)🐾
From dogs doing the "paddle" to fish in the water, animals and swimming naturally go together.🐠

Each month, we introduce a new celebration theme that helps keep learning engaging and effective. Using familiar movements with an added element of imagination to help swimmers stay focused as they build real skills in the water.

You might hear about "sea otter back floats" or see swimmers practicing their "dolphin kicks" and behind each one is a purpose: helping kids strengthen technique, improve body control, and build confidence in the water.

Because every lesson is about progress, skill-building, and helping kids become safer swimmers. We just teach in a way that kids enjoy the learning process.✨

What actually happens during a swim lesson?
For many parents, the first lesson can feel like a mystery.

A typical class includes guided skill practice, playful activities that help reinforce learning, and lots of encouragement from instructors along the way. Kids work on important skills like floating, safe movement through the water, and listening for directions. All while having fun!😊

Because when kids enjoy the experience, they're more likely to stay engaged and keep building new skills.

💬 If your child is already in lessons, what's their favorite part?

Summer travel means new pools, new places, and new water safety reminders. ☀️

Whether you're heading to a hotel pool, spending the day at the beach, or visiting family with a backyard pool, a little preparation can help keep kids safer around the water. 🌊

A few quick reminders families often find helpful:
• Take a few minutes to look around and spot exits, lifeguards, and safety equipment
• Stay close and actively supervise, especially in unfamiliar water environments
• Use Coast Guard-approved life jackets when a personal flotation device is needed
• Talk with kids about pool rules before they jump in

Every pool or body of water is a little different, so building strong water safety habits helps kids stay prepared wherever summer takes them.

✨Save this post for your next trip and share it with another parent who's planning summer travel.

Parents notice the little changes first.🥰

✨The smile after a lesson.
✨The excitement to jump in the pool.
✨The moment they realize they're doing something they couldn't do before.
✨Those small moments are how confidence in the water starts to grow.

And honestly? They're some of our favorite moments to celebrate with our swim families.

💬What's something you've noticed your swimmer doing more
confidently lately?

Today is International Water Safety Day! 💙

It's a reminder of something we believe every day at Goldfish Swim School: learning water safety skills can make a life-changing difference for kids and families.

Water safety isn't just about swimming. It's about building the skills and habits that help children feel confident, capable, and prepared whenever they're around water. Whether that's a pool, lake, beach, or vacation spot, those skills are there to help keep kids safer.

Every lesson is a step toward helping kids become safer in and around the water, and we're proud to be part of that journey with our swim families.

👏Save this post to revisit these water safety tips later, and share it with another parent or caregiver in your life to help spread awareness for drowning prevention and water safety. Together we can make an untold difference!!

"When should babies start swim lessons?"
It's a question many parents ask, especially as summer gets closer. 🏖️

Babies can begin building comfort in the water earlier than many people realize. Early swim lessons focus on helping little ones get used to the water while learning important safety habits alongside a parent or caregiver.

In our Mini Lessons, babies explore the pool through guided play, songs, and gentle skill-building. 🧡

Over time, they start practicing things like floating on their back, moving through the water with support, and feeling comfortable in a new environment. Those early experiences help build familiarity, confidence, and respect for the water as they grow.

💬 Curious if your little one is ready for swim lessons? We're happy to answer your questions! Share this with other parents, who might be looking for baby swimming resources!
