Opening morning success, best opening morning I've had in a long while. I got excited then, dejected, then back in game and the Nightmare calls yelps is what he ended up liking the most. killed him at 11am, good game well played by him. And while I was cleaning him there after eating a can of peaches, like Daddy and I use to do, one of the swallow tail kites was swooping around above.
Really need to take that date stamp off or fix it, on that camera.

Well guy and Gals, Opening day for public land here and that is where I get to play. Looking forward to it. I'll here guys race in a few minutes after daylight like every year and I hope not to hear boats in the creek, but I'll be honest I'm going to be happy just to be there finally once again. There will be the yahoo's out there and people will get upset with one another for messing it up, just roll with it and hopefully God will give us another opening day. I'll be happy just to be there again and remember the memories I have there.

When the afternoon Hunt gets side tracked because of critters in the way. Sorry so shaky but started laughing at the little white and black one scratching. His little hiney was just a twerking on that sapling.

Finally got to the turkey woods Saturday and with bad weather foretasted for the morning decided to sleep in a bit then head over, got there weather was not terrible, Gobbler gobbled right on cue and thought it was going to be a short hunt....He must have thought his hen was sexier than I was. Only having a few days to hunt this season I figured I better put in some effort. Weather got windy and it was not a good day to hunt. But that gobbler and his girl gave me to much info and it sure is easier to call a turkey to where they are going. First day for the Nightmare call in the woods.

Don't remember this gobbler, I've forget a lot of them now. But if I drive by a place I can tell you where I missed them at. I think I have missed more gobblers that what is allowed. My birds never show up where they are suppose to. They're behind me or twisting me around like pretzel before I get a shot on em. I remember that shot in that pine to a tee. He had me shooting left handed and way to right of me. When the shot went off the gun slid off my shoulder and into my arm. I think there should be a grand slam on trees. I've shot pine trees, pine logs (Cut a 2-1/2" wide groove in it), Oak trees, Sassafras tree, and vines (you know the ones that just off the end of your gunbarrel that you don't see until it blows your pattern to hell).
