To address the questions, comments and concerns about who is eligible to play or not play in the Florida State Amateur 9-Ball Event, we have had numerous discussions and decisions to make. The reality is that we are not able to make everyone happy across the board, it just doesn't happen.
At this time the decision is that if you have a Fargo Rating of any kind, it must be established, 500+ games in that system, and you must be 699 or under. IF you do not have any Fargo rating, or you have less than 500 games, you will be vetted to the best of our ability and a decision will be made. In regards to the 2022 event, again this was something new for FPT and everyone knew that things were in flux when it comes to allowing players or barring players. Some were close and some never posted any real results on the tour. Some had never played, some played every single year. Taking that into consideration, we do our very best to make the decision we make, in every way as unbiased as possible.
This isn't always going to please everyone, however we must use a benchmark somewhere, somehow. This is not easy to do. There are a million arguments to every single questionable player, and never one complete right answer.
If you are not eligible by these metrics, we encourage you to set your focus to the next event, the 2023 Florida State Open 10-Ball Championship to be held at Zingale's March 25-26 2023.
