It's a deer in headlights, oh crap, kind of moment when your slide deck doesn't show on the projection screens in a room set up for 1,000 participants. *gulp*

You either give up, throw in the towel, and say better luck next time. Or, you just go for it. You've practiced what you're going to say. Memorized the sequencing of the slide deck. And even if you mess up, you'll still provide value to the people that showed up.

Last year, when that pesky presentation just would not show up, I had two options in front of me. Either call off the session or go for it.

As I stood on the stage, looking out to the crowd, Marie Forleo's voice floated into my panicked internal monologue and said, "everything is figureoutable. So calm the F down".

I took a deep breath. And in a split second decision decided to run through the session without a slide deck guiding me or the participants.

Was it a little messy? Of course. But did I provide value to participants? Heck yes, I did!
