I got one of those copper discs and put it in the front water bowl to help keep the bowl clean from algae and stuff.

Hopefully that will keep the water clean so TigerStripe, Charcoal and the numerous opossums can stay hydrated in the heat.

And Happy Birthday to the US Army!

A new regular at the food bowl.
He’s a cute little piglet that eats like a champ.
I saw him and another one taking turns at the food bowl. The other one looked older so maybe it’s the mom, no way to know.

This is why I keep the water buckets full.

On the hot days the watering hole crew gets thirsty so I keep 3 five gallon buckets full of water out there.

And I keep a 4th bucket full out at the survival site.

And I keep a water bowl full out front near the food bowl.

I want all of my furry and feathered visitors to stay hydrated especially in the heat.

Drink water and stretch. You’ll be fine!

Charcoal taking a nap outside the back door in the shade.

I gave him some food. So he got to eat.

I haven’t seen him in a few days during the rain storms. He hides out somewhere hopefully covered during the rainy days.

TigerStripe wasn’t around today so far. He hides out somewhere during the rainy days as well.

They rarely are around at the same time as they avoid each other.

I did see TigerStripe eating late last night though. And a new young opossum was at the food bowl last night as well.

Charcoal didn’t seem to have any obvious wounds and he wasn’t limping so that is good. He let me pat him as he ate.

It’s a rough life for these guys out there in the wild. I’m glad they can come to my area for a rest and some food and water.

Got to see both of them today.
TigerStripe and Charcoal.
My two feral fur balls that I feed daily.
They both lead rough lives as furry survivalists. And both are lucky to still be kickin.
They are arch enemies oddly enough.
Don’t know why but it has always been that way. Same food bowl they used to fight over. Now they just take turns eating and avoid each other.
Charcoal had a slight limp walking up to the food bowl. No visible wounds.
TigerStripe has several open wounds around his neck possibly from a bite or noose. He’s had these for awhile. But he walks normal.
Both are little compared to Joey.
And they are scrawny.
Charcoal greets me with a meow and lets me pat him. He started hanging out with Joey and around the house in 2024 or earlier.
TigerStripe watches me from the bushes but will never get close. He started coming around the house before Charcoal in 2023 or earlier.
They are a couple of freeloading bums who just use my land for safety and to rest and my food to eat.
But regardless, I care about them and we have history. They aren’t new. So I will continue to feed their freeloading furry butts and let them hang around as long as they want.

Another beautiful day at the office!
Had to conduct some maintenance out at the survival site after the storms this week.
Put the flag back up and remounted my large solar light and some smaller ones.
There is always plenty of stuff to do out there but I don’t consider it to be work.
The survival site is a place of peace and tranquillity that brings calm healing and relaxation. The ultimate stress management facility. Good for the mind, body and spirit!
Grateful and thankful for all blessings this day.
