Yesterday was my birthday.
First new skill of 56: tuck jumps.

An advanced plyometrics exercise my trainer introduced…
and wow, it was hard.

Sweating like crazy 😄

Swipe to watch it unfold →
Set 1: arms flailing 🤣
Set 2: arms pumping
Set 3:core engaged

Felt totally awkward and so not graceful…but improved with each set.

Learning new things keeps me feeling young.

Hoping to be 96 and still learning.

What’s something new you’ve tried lately?

Had a wonderful time birding for the first time at Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park.

I see why people love it now 😄

What I loved most was how present it makes you.

Listening. Watching. Waiting.
Not rushing to the next thing.

It turns out birding is really about paying attention.

And honestly, it felt really good to slow down,
to be curious,
and just notice what’s around me.

Shoutout to our knowledgeable and super helpful guide Kayleigh.

Anyone here into birding? I might be a convert 😄

I just got back from a week in New Mexico at a Qigong retreat with and one word kept coming up for me:

Stillness

I’m in a season of big change:

Becoming an empty nester next week, watching my husband step into a new chapter, and beginning to shift the direction of my own work.

It felt like the right time to create space. Not to do more, but to pause and just be.

My default is usually to figure things out. Keep moving. Keep doing.

This week reminded me that in midlife, there’s wisdom to be found not pushing forward.

And creating space to listen.

In that space, things start to get clearer on:

What matters.
What’s next.
What might need to shift.

So grateful I was able to take the time to gain that clarity.

What qigong taught me is that you don’t need a retreat to create a moment of stillness.

Even a few moments of pause in your day count.

Comment “pause” if this resonates.
