DEAR FOLLOWERS: I don’t blame you for continuing to be on these platforms. This decision was painful for me.

It’s not just hard because of the potential impact on my business, but also because I love YOU ALL! This is a carefully curated community I’ve built. It breaks my heart to leave the people and pages behind have been a part of the tapestry of my life for over a decade.

Part of me worries that when people who think like me leave a platform, it will create an echo chamber for faci$ts and right wing extremist ideology. This is overridden by the sense that staying here is being complicit for me.

Keep talking if you stay. Keep fighting if you stay. Keep getting browner, queerer, witchier, louder, stronger, and prouder.

Most people won’t date someone with differing political leanings and that polarization has only widened since 2016. A 2017 Wakeman poll found around a third of respondents indicated they would divorce a spouse who supported Trump. This poll also found that 29% replied that “the current political environment” has negatively impacted their relationship.

Madame Pelicot’s ex-husband can only be given a maximum of 20 YEARS for all of his crimes against her.

On the other hand, I cheer for her getting any semblance of justice when so many survivors do not.

On the US, according to , out of 1000 🍇 cases:
- only 31% are reported to police
- 50 reports lead to an arrest
- 28 will receive a felony conviction
- 25 r*pists will be incarcerated…that’s only 2.5%!

Survivors deserve better.

Posted • Today, we honor the lives of transgender individuals lost to violence and discrimination. This solemn day reminds us of the resilience and strength within the trans community while underscoring the urgent need to combat hate and injustice.

As we reflect, let’s also amplify trans voices, advocate for trans rights, and celebrate their invaluable contributions to our communities. 🕯️🏳️‍⚧️

Our Spot KC is committed to being a hub of resources for the LGBTQ+ community in Kansas City.

Lion House is Our Spot KC’s flagship housing program, which includes both transitional housing and rapid rehousing for LGBTQ+ youth, adults, and families facing homelessness in the KC metro.

Lion House operates two transitional housing facilities, one in Kansas and one in Missouri, and is in the beginning stages of construction of a 9-cottage community to expand our offerings.

Lion House provides housing alongside supportive services, all catered to the unique experiences and needs of the LGBTQ+ community, including culturally tailored case management, affirming in-house mental health services, basic needs provision, weekly life skills workshops, vetted third party referrals, community building, and employment and volunteer opportunities.
