Swim Lessons:
Welcome/Policies/Information
Welcome to swim lessons with Tulsa Lifeguard Pro! We are so excited about another great
season with our wonderful swim families. Please take a minute to read about some important
details concerning our swim lessons program.
● Weather Policy: There are two makeup dates built in due to inclement weather
cancellations. Thunder and lightning in the
area around lesson times are an issue. Local protocols will be followed concerning
storms and pool use.
● Makeup dates will be offered for any lessons cancelled due to pool or instructor issues.
● In the event that it is not possible to offer makeup lessons, a per-lesson refund will be
available.
● Makeup dates are not available to individual students who miss lessons due to personal
reasons.
● All updates regarding lessons cancellations and makeup dates will be posted on the
Tulsa Area Lifeguard page. It's a good idea to like/follow the main page and
tag yourself in the comments of the dedicated "UPDATES" post. Make sure your settings
allow you to receive alerts when info is posted on the Tulsa Lifeguard Pro page. At Tulsa Lifeguard Pro, we are dedicated to progression in swimming. We work hard to ensure
that each student will increase swimming ability as much as possible during the course of their
lessons with us. Though some students are able to progress very quickly, it is typically a false
expectation that beginner swimmers will become proficient, independent swimmers during the
course of one session. Please understand that every student learns at their own pace, and that
becoming a proficient swimmer is something that is developed over time. It requires consistency
and diligence on the part of the instructor, student and parents. In order to get the most out of your lessons, please observe these things:
● Arrive early for class so that your swimmer is sitting in our designated starting area at the
time class begins. Please make sure children sit cross-legged away from the pool edge
until the instructor is ready.
● Classes for this session do not have gaps of time between. This means that instructors
will not be available to answer questions before or after your lesson. If you have a
question for your instructor, please reach out to us via phone, email, or Facebook
messenger.
● Goggles are recommended, but not required.
● Long hair should be pulled back and secured out of the face.
● Smaller children should use the potty before class.
● If your child is not yet potty trained, swim diapers are required in the pool.
● Some lessons occur during open swim times. If you would like to use the pool for your
family before or after swim lessons, talk with the pool staff on duty about daily rates
and/or memberships.
● For swim lessons happening when open swim is not available, only swim students and
instructors are allowed in the pool during their scheduled classes. Please help us to
maintain a safe environment by keeping children close by at all times, and away from the
pool edge if they are not currently participating in a lesson. Thank you so much for choosing to swim with us. If you have any questions at all, we will be
happy to help! Katie Dalrymple and the Tulsa Lifeguard Pro Instructor Team
