Imagine putting in all the hard work, week after week, only to have it derailed by an injury.
If you’ve ever been sidelined from a workout routine due to an injury, you know how quickly progress can stall.
In our pursuit of fitness, it’s easy to be tempted by the “no pain, no gain” mentality.
But sometimes, those intense, Rocky-style workouts we see in movies do more harm than good.
Consider this: if you complete all your workouts over the year at about 80% intensity, you’re already doing enough to drive noticeable improvements.
One of the most effective ways to avoid injury is by slowing down. Think of it as an investment in your future workouts. If you avoid just one injury by slowing down, you’re potentially saving weeks or even months of missed training time.
Progress isn’t determined by how hard you push yourself in one session but by how many sessions you complete over time.
Don’t win one battle at the expense of winning the war.
