💧 Smarter Water Management at an Iconic Southern California Landmark 💧

Integrated-Aqua helped support a major sustainability initiative at the historic Del Mar Racetrack & Fairgrounds by providing an advanced filtration and monitoring solution for the facility’s central pond.

IAS supplied HEX™ Drum Filters with Integrated Drum Filter Control Systems (DFC) to remove suspended solids, improve water quality, and support the recirculation and reuse of pond water. A comprehensive water-quality instrumentation package was also included to help verify treatment performance and confirm that discharged water met required standards.

The result is a more efficient approach to pond and lake management, combining automated filtration, water reuse, and real-time monitoring to support both operational performance and sustainability goals.

🐧 Supporting Advanced Life Support at Franklin Park Zoo

Integrated-Aqua is proud to support Franklin Park Zoo’s new African Penguin Coast exhibit with critical water treatment and control technology designed for demanding zoological Life Support Systems.

For the new penguin habitat, IAS supplied a SITA PE200 UV Sterilizer along with an AEGIS II Control Platform, helping provide dependable UV disinfection, system monitoring, and operational control as part of the exhibit’s LSS infrastructure.

For zoo and aquarium professionals, reliable water treatment and system visibility are essential to maintaining stable aquatic environments, supporting animal care, and simplifying day-to-day operations. Projects like African Penguin Coast demonstrate how purpose-selected equipment can strengthen the performance and resilience of modern exhibit Life Support Systems.

This summer, Integrated-Aqua was proud to host two interns through the MiraCosta College Technology Career Institute Aquaculture Internship Program, developed in partnership with California Sea Grant, AquaPAC, and industry partners, with support from NOAA-National Sea Grant.

During their time at IAS, the interns gained hands-on experience in shop safety, tool use, parts fabrication, and aquatic system assembly—building practical skills that support careers in aquaculture, fisheries, and Aquatic Life Support.

The experience also led to a new career opportunity, with one intern joining IAS as a Shop Technician and continuing their training toward certification.

Programs like this help strengthen the future of the aquatic industry by connecting education with real-world technical experience.
