Been a while but just wanted to stop in and let this group know that I’m still trying to push this thing into existence. I feel like I’m going to have to start going to these park and rec meetings. Who all in here lives in escambia county? I think that’s going to be the support I need initially. Message me or comment

Well folks, I am at a loss. I really don’t know where we stand with this at the moment. USABMX has gotten involved with the County and I have not had any correspondence in quite some time. To say I feel defeated is an understatement. I don’t know the future of BMx here. 7 years I have attended dozens of meeting, spent quite a bit of money out of my own pocket chasing this. My kids are grown now to the point I’m not even sure they still want to race. If it ever happens, I will be there. But until then, I am done with my fight. I have moved on to other things. I will be supportive if it goes, but my opinion is grim at best at our chances. I will remain as a liaison with the county if they need me, and they know I am ready to jump in if it goes, but my weekly calls, monthly meetings, and endless responding to emails is over for me.

Thanks for the support, I hope this isn’t the end, but I am signing off for a while.

Good evening all. I am excited to hopefully be able to answer some questions and get the "REAL" information out about the facility we are proposing and what BMX can do for our community.

If you can make it, please try. If folks want to come out with kiddos in their race gear and bring bikes to show off some, go ahead. We will have a pretty good group to speak if asked to provide information. Thanks everyone for their continued support. This will not all be about the BMX facility, but about the revitalization of the whole park. In our opinion, a lot of great improvements for everyone!

Hello all, so I am not sure what got posted to the page. So I will recap and give some more info.

Escambia County is having an informational meeting about the proposed BMX facility we have been working towards for well over 6 years at Lexington Terrace Park in Pensacola. 3-30-23 at 3pm. I know it is a tough day and time, but anyone who can attend I beg you do. This is the time to be heard and show support.

County commissioner Mike Koehler will be attending to speak and take questions. I of course will attend. I will also hang around after for some more information I want to give out after this meeting.

Folks, please be level headed. We will absolutely have folks against it. Let’s not give anyone any firepower to fight us.

We all know this is a positive impact facility we are seeking and the good it can bring to so many youth in our areas. In a world of naysayers and groups that will fight against anything, let’s show how positive this activity is to all involved.

If anyone has questions, feel free to reach out and I will answer as much as I know. Thanks everyone! I swear I can hear the gates drop already!!

OK folks, March 30th, 3pm. If you want to promote this thing, show up (in full gear with your bikes if so inclined, especially the kiddos). Lets show how many locally would be utilizing on a weekly basis. Prepare for the Naysayers, but lets keep a cool head and do this diplomatically. As of right now, the county is showing positive support.

It is time to be heard and show what a wonderful asset this would be for our community!
