Several pairs of shears are much better to use for their owners tonight. They don’t have to be expensive to get much better with regular maintenance. As always I’m thankful and honored to be trusted with tools used to make a living. The young ladies I served tonight were all great!

Customer found a knife in rough shape, he told me, about how it was found next to his truck when his wife got out. I told him I could probably fix it (not wanting to say I could take care of it before I saw it) He retrieved it from his truck and I told him I could fix it for sure. He didn’t believe me, so my Extra course DMT diamond hone and I showed him it could be done!

Lots of sharpening today, even had the privilege of putting a great edge on a rusty Estwing. Some nice shears too.

If you haven’t tried you should…if you see their Airstream and flags out, I highly suggest pulling in, do it safely but it’s worth crossing 3+ lanes of traffic to get there. they do post their schedule to know where they’ll be.

***ANNOUNCEMENT!!!*** are your shears dull? Having trouble getting through fabric? Not cutting as cleanly as they once did? I can fix that! Ink and Edges has an open to the public sharpening event at the end of January hosted by Mashe Modern Quilt Shop in Dallas Center, open to close 9am-4pm (that’s 0900-1600 for those of us on a 24h clock). I do my sharpening by hand with diamond hones right in front of you if you’d like to watch. Otherwise I’ll have a work table set up, you can drop off your shears, leave your name and # on my sheet, and I’ll call or txt when they’re ready. I’ll be taking cash, Venmo, or card. $20 per set of shears. Please reach out if you have any questions. Hope to see you soon.

2 markets today! Middleswart Lodge south of Indianola 0900-1200 put on by Warren County Comservation and Never Board Games in Norwalk from as soon as I can pack up, make the trip, and set up until close. Come say hi and get something special for that or in your life.

Thanks to all veterans. I appreciate you and your service, whether in war time or not you signed a blank check of which many were cashed for lives, limbs, and wounds at least as deep, even if not seen by the naked eye. I want to express my gratitude openly today but know that my thankfulness never wanes.

hornet taken care of for a customer. I don’t know what he did to it but I had to file away the metal so the mechanism would work right. Got it taken care of, this was customer abuse, NOT a problem with the product. I have the utmost respect for the OTFs that RCT is putting out. I see details when I’m working on these knives that cheaper look-alikes don’t have. There’s quality and workmanship in these. This one is going back to the customer but I’ve got a few others in inventory or you can use code “inknedges” to get 15% off buying direct from their website.
