Who We Are
NORTHERN WATER GUIDE is a fully insured and licensed guide service providing clients the opportunity to see what northern New Hampshire has to offer. Whether you’re an experienced fly fishermen that needs assistance on new water or new to fly fishing we are happy to assist you! We focus on wade/drift trips on the Connecticut river in search of brookies, browns, rainbow trout, and landlocked salmon. The founder, Nick Proulx, is a native to New Hampshire. Growing up in the Lakes Region, he was introduced to the art of fly fishing and fly tying at the age of ten. “Twenty one years later, my obsession for the sport continues on. I have spent countless hours on back country ponds, small streams, and larger rivers trying to study and learn as much as I can about the fish I spend so much time chasing. Six years ago I met my wife Lindsey, we spent every chance we got on the water. I honestly have to say I enjoyed watching her learn and catch fish more than catching them myself. Having the opportunity to teach her and a few friends fly fishing techniques and watching their love for the sport grow, started my interest in guiding. After a little encouragement from my wife and a few months of studying, Northern Water Guide was established.”

What makes us unique? Not only will we offer a fun day on the water, but an educational one. Our package whether a half day or full day will include all flies, leaders, any gear you may need if you’re just starting out and photos of that special trip. Our trips are primarily focused in Pittsburg NH, but we do offer additional wade trips on the Newfound and Pemigewasset rivers and drift trips on multiple pounds mid state as well.
