SOX Baseball U8A Coach Pitch team from Sapulpa

Summer League started 2 weeks ago and with only practicing 3 times to learn how to transition from coach pitch to kid pitch these boys have done a great job. We have gone 1-3 so far, but we are hitting the ball, waiting on pitches, learning how to pitch or work the bases. We knew moving up for was going to be a learning process, but it is definitely going to help in the long run.

The schedule for pool play is out for this weekend. Looking to get a few more wins under our belt and bring home some hardware before jumping up to kid pitch.

The boys finished spring league in 1st place with a 7-1 record and 140 runs scored with 39 runs given up. We watched a lot of good progression this year. One more Coach Pitch tournament next weekend and then we will move up and try our hand at some Kid Pitch for summer ball to get ready for next year.

Our boys came out hot this morning to start game 1, but fielding errors, strikeouts and base running mistakes hindered our chance to come away with a win today. Tomorrow starts a new day though and bracket play starts at 10am. It’s win or go home time.

Tournament schedule is out and Pool Play gets started for us at 9am tomorrow morning. 2 Pool Play games tomorrow and then back Sunday for Single Elimination Bracket Play.

SOX played lights out last night and came away with a 20-3 win. That put the win streak at 6 games. Now it is time to get ready for the tournament this weekend.

SOX got a 16-3 win tonight with a solid game at the plate and in the field. Now we are tied for first place in the league and kept the win streak alive at 5 W’s. Next on the books is a Thursday night league game before the first of back to back tournament weekends.

Well the sun came out, dried up all the rain and the SOX came ready to play. We got W with a 20-9 win and kept the win streak going at 4 wins.

The boys picked up another W tonight with a 21-5 win and now have a 3 game win streak going. After playing 6 games in 7 days we are taking the weekend off and will be back at it on Tuesday night.

2 games down this week and 2 W’s in the books. Won last night 14-5, then came out tonight and won 28-10. We have finally found our bats again and our defense is still doing great! Finish off the week with our third game on Friday and look to put another W in the books.
