An incoming freshman at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, Eddie brings years of competitive softball experience, including playing with Pittsburgh Passion.

Eddie is passionate about helping athletes grow their skills, confidence, and knowledge of the game. Whether working in a 1-on-1 or group setting, she focuses not only on development, but also on teaching proper mechanics and injury prevention.

🥎 DESTIN/30A AREA SOFTBALL PLAYERS 🥎

I’m excited to announce that I, Coach Bethany/BKJ Catching, have officially relocated from Pennsylvania to the Destin, Florida area and am now accepting new athletes for private catching lessons!

For the past 8 years, I have coached and trained softball players both locally and nationally through private lessons and clinics. I’m excited to bring that experience to the Emerald Coast softball community.

As an NCAA Certified Catching Instructor and owner of National Softball Academy, I specialize in developing catchers from beginner to advanced levels. Whether an athlete is just learning the position or preparing for the next level, lessons are designed to build strong fundamentals, improve mechanics, increase softball IQ, and develop confidence behind the plate.

In addition to on-field development, I help athletes navigate the recruiting process and prepare for the expectations of college softball. My goal is not only to help players improve their skills, but to equip them with the knowledge, work ethic, and mindset needed to succeed at the next level.

Player Spotlight: Molly Mayfield

Molly has been part of our catching camps since she was just 12 years old, and watching her growth has been nothing short of incredible. Through hard work, dedication, and a true love for the game, she has developed into an outstanding catcher and a leader on the field.

Now a little bit more about her:

“My name is Molly Mayfield, and I am a 2027 catcher and junior at Niceville High School in Niceville, Florida. I am the starting varsity catcher. I play travel ball for Intensity 16U KOD Premier.

I’ve developed elite receiving and catching skills under Coach Bethany at the National Softball Academy, where I’ve trained since 14U.

My accomplishments include:

* 2025 Golden Glove Award Winner
* Top 25 Regional Catcher – Extra Inning Softball x MaxPreps
* 2025 Ranked #8 in Florida 5A for fielding percentage (.996)
* 2025 Ranked Top 20 overall in the State of Florida
* 1.8 pop time | 82 mph exit velocity | 66 mph overhand throw
* 2025 NHS Varsity Defensive MVP

Off the field, I maintain a 4.5 weighted GPA as an honor student, play trumpet, and am active in Scouting.

I’m known for my leadership, energy, and relentless drive. I hold myself to a high standard in everything I do, on the field, in the classroom, and in my community.

My goal is to compete at the highest level of college softball while pursuing a future career as a trauma surgeon.”

A little late, but we’re excited to announce Coach Jamie as apart of our staff here at the NSA!

Jamie isn’t new to our team, but she’s already been a great asset to our program. Her energy, knowledge, and competitiveness have made a big impact on our athletes.

Jamie Kelly is a dedicated softball athlete and trainer with proven collegiate experience and a passion for developing players. At the JUCO level, Jamie earned 1st Team All-Region 20 honors, was named to the All-Region 20 Tournament Team, and received both the Catamount Culture Award and Catamounts Climb Higher Award for leadership and commitment. Now competing at Waynesburg University, Jamie is the starting shortstop and a competitive hitter with 18 doubles this season. With experience at multiple levels of college softball, strong defensive instincts, and a team-first mindset, Jamie brings energy, knowledge, and competitiveness to every training session.

We’re lucky to have her on our staff!
