Akron-Canton Adventure Boot Camp is a four-week outdoor women's program of fitness instruction, nutritional counseling and motivational training. You will be inspired and have fun while participating in a fantastic workout led by Certified Adventure Fitness Trainer, Daniel Bahry. Each day, camp will be one hour in length starting at 5:30 AM. 5:30am is the "no excuse" hour, and allows you to get a jump start to your day. Get your metabolism burning before most people even get out of bed.

One of my favorite boot camp workouts:-). Enjoy.

Time for Workout Wednesday! On Wednesdays, I like to share bits and pieces of our boot camp workouts. Here is a workout we did last week. We call it "12 days of Christmas" but since I pulled it out a little early, let's call it "12 days to Octoberfest." That means when you finish the workout, you recover with a good tasting Octoberfest. What? That's what they do for races:-). Or not. Your choice.

Anyway, each exercise builds on the previous.

Round 1 - hold plank for 30 sec.

Round 2 - do 2-25 yard sprints, then a 30 sec plank. (You can do burpees instead of sprints if you like)(which yes can be modified)

Round 3 - do 3 shoulder presses, 2 sprints, and a 30 sec plank.

Round 4 - do 4 inch worms, 3 shoulder presses, 2 sprints and a 30 sec plank.

I think you get the idea:-). Keep going until you've completed all 12 rounds. Can't make it through 12? Do as many as you can and remember to always go at your pace and back down if you get light headed. Good luck.

Huge opportunity for those of you that are local and have kids between the age of 8-24 years old. Ever want to just go to 4.40 Performance and run around. Here's your chance. Come check it out. As you know, I work side by side with 4.40 Performance in Green and I can tell you that kids come out of there with much much more than just good technique and mechanics. Yes, their performance is improved, but so is their character, discipline, and overall well being! The coaches at 4.40 Performance truly care about each young person that walks through the door and I can promise you they will come away wanting to be a part of that community.

Here is you chance to find out for FREE! The entire month of October, you can stop in and have your kids workout for free on Fridays 3-6pm and Sundays 1-4pm.

This kid designed our workout this morning! Ok, by "design" I mean picked the games we would play and the WE put some rules to them, added some exercises and went to town. It was a great morning of boot camp and it was an honor to bring my 10 year old son to meet everyone as well as show him what is dad does for a living, or maybe more importantly, WHY his dad does what he does. I've got to say, I'm impressed with his ability to jump out of bed at 4:30am and get after it! Thanks to all the campers who made it out this morning and made Caden feel like the man:-). You all rock. .
