πŸ₯Ž LIGHTNING IN THE VALLEY TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS πŸ†

Championship Sunday was a perfect example of what this team is all about: grit, resilience, and refusing to quit.

We opened bracket play with a 5-1 win over Gold Star, playing solid softball in all phases of the game and setting the tone for the day.

The semifinal tested us early. We found ourselves down 8-0 and could have easily folded, but that’s not who this group is. These girls kept battling, one at-bat at a time, one inning at a time. They chipped away at the lead, never panicked, and never stopped believing. Their determination paid off with an incredible 12-11 walk-off victory to advance to the championship game.

Then came the championship. Once again, adversity struck as we faced a late deficit. Once again, these girls responded. Down 10-3 heading into the sixth inning, they put together an explosive rally, scoring eight runs and completely changing the momentum of the game. Every player contributed, every at-bat mattered, and the belief in our dugout never wavered. The result was an 11-10 championship victory and a tournament title.

FIVE wins this weekend. Two incredible comeback victories. One championship.

What makes me most proud isn’t the trophyβ€”it’s the fight these girls showed all day long. They never quit when things got tough. They trusted each other, competed for one another, and proved that no game is ever over until the final out is recorded. This team showed a level of heart and toughness that can’t be taught. They earned every bit of this championship.

Proud is an understatement.

πŸŽ‰ Happy National Girls & Women in Sports Day! πŸ€βšΎπŸ₯Ž
Today we celebrate the strength, courage, and leadership of girls and women in sports β€” on the field, in the classroom, and in the workplace! 🌟

Playing sports doesn’t just build athletic skills β€” it builds leaders. Here’s why:

πŸ“Š Career & Leadership Impact of Playing Sports
β€’ 85% of women who played competitive sports say the skills they learned helped them succeed in their careers.
β€’ 69% of women leaders played competitive sports β€” showing the real connection between athletics and leadership success.
β€’ Nearly half of women credit their leadership skills directly to experiences in sports.
β€’ Skills most often gained through sport include teamwork, resilience, confidence, pressure management, and communication.

πŸ’‘ Why It Matters
Sports help girls build confidence, grit, and a growth mindset β€” tools they carry into every part of life, whether that’s leading a team, a classroom, a community, or a company.

Today we recognize every girl and woman who plays, competes, encourages, coaches, and leads. πŸ’ͺ

THE FUTURE IS FEMALE.
And she’s strong, driven, and unstoppable. πŸ†
