I love this quick blog read by my love, Mr. Tony Horton. And you know what ... since meeting him a number of times now, he truly is a walking positivity beacon, sharing love with all those he comes into contact with...

I never knew he was a mime, or a former actor in a previous life, though! I can definitely see that in him!

Moral of the story ... if you treat yourself nicely, others will be forced to follow suit, you will remain happy, and you will open the door and allow yourself to reach your goals ....

Happy Monday!!

Losing pounds, and getting stronger and more lean and fit isn't going to happen overnight, or in the next week, or even the next couple of months, and that's a good thing. That rate of loss wouldn't be sustainable, nor would it likely be healthy.

Here's what is healthy and sustainable: 1-2 pounds a week. Some weeks it will be more, some less. It probably won't be linear. But it's the rate to aim for, and it's how lasting change is achieved.

We NEED to get the idea out of our minds that we will have this magical ZAP and P**F, our goals will be achieved.

Nope ... you're going to have to work for it. and probably work HARD for it.

You'll have to learn new habits and put them into PRACTICE.

You'll have to push yourself in ways you haven't been recently.

You'll need support, and a community of others around you to help lift you up, keep you on track, and who share your positive vibes.

That's what this group is for. If you're not mentally ready, then you won't get there!!!

And if you ARE mentally ready, then set your goals, make a plan that will help you reach those goals, and USE THIS GROUP for your accountability and support!

Counting calories sucks.

I mean, really … it’s such a pain in the butt. And how many of you feel like the calories you’re counting are not resulting in a weight loss as quickly as you had hoped?

Or … maybe it’s not working for you at all?

Unfortunately what most people are not aware of, is the fact that calorie counting is FLAWED … like … A LOTTTTT.

Calories listed on food packages are not scientifically accurate, for starters, due to the way they are calculated. In addition, what our bodies actually absorb matters in the process.

Tony Horton wrote a great, quick blog post on living a PREVENTATIVE lifestyle. The whole point is to feed and fuel your body with foods that will promote alkalinity, and help your body to function optimally. Alkaline foods have been known to help reverse disease

So how does he suggest we accomplish this??

* Avoid foods that come in a bag, box or can that has more than 4 ingredients
* Be prepared and plan your meals
* Stick to a diet that includes whole grains, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes, healthy fats and lean proteins
* “Make sure to have a huge leafy green salad every day and pile lots of veggies on your plate.”

My favorite line:
“As you age, your body will break down more and more, it's a given, so you have a choice about whether you want to help it stay strong and healthy, or add to the aging process by not taking care of it.”
