The NCS XC team traveled to Lebanon, OR over the past weekend to compete in the Champs Invite. There were a numerous amount of PR’s and some great performances from our golden eagle runners🦅

Would like to give a shoutout to Emma Star-Nez for taking 1st place in the girls JV 3000 meter race🥇

NCS will be heading to Baker City this Thursday for the Baker Invitational.

The NCS Cross Country team kicked off their season yesterday at Pendleton High School’s Community Park Shakeout meet. We still have a few boys awaiting to race. Was a good outing for Nixyaawii Track & Field over the past weekend (4/29) at Union’s 14th Annual Pepsi Invite. There were a handful of NCS athletes that achieved PR’s (personal records) in their events. The following include:
Marcellus Scott: Shot Put & 100m
Landen Picard: 100m & High Jump
Alayna Bevis: 400m
Kyella Picard: Shot Put
Mersayus Hart: 400m

Some notable performances at the meet:

Ella Stewart earned 5th place in the Javelin throw.

Alayna Bevis with a 4th place finish in the 400m sprint.

Mersayus Hart with a 2nd place finish in the 400m along with a 3rd place finish in the 200m sprint.

Landen Picard jumped out of his mind and PR’d by 8 inches in the high jump, earning him 2nd place.

Kyella Picard took 1st place in the Javelin🥇 and earned 3rd for Shot Put.

This week Nixyaawii will be competing in three meets at Athena (5/2), Pendleton (5/3), and Stanfield (5/5).

The 2022 cross country season is officially under way! On Friday (Sep. 9th), the Golden Eagle’s made their season debut at the Runner Soul Fest held in Umatilla, OR. A lot of solid performances for the first meet! There were a handful of runners missing but will be racing at the next meet! This coming Friday, the team will be racing in Wallowa, OR. The season/meet schedule will be posted shortly. Go NCS 🦅
