We would wish our wrestlers; sophomore Laiken Warner & freshman Ava Henry a safe week at the Adrian College Girls Wrestling Camp in Michigan. Both wrestlers will spend the next four days taking part in several practices, while also wrestling in a number of dual meet matches.

First we had our 8 am morning crew, and then we had this afternoon 3:30 group. Hats off to Ryder Taylor, Ellie Marsh, and Maddie Kreinbihl for not only doing both workouts, but for also sticking around after the afternoon workout and doing the Murph workout. The Murph consists of a 1 mile run, followed by 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and then another 1 mile run. In total, 11 wrestlers (boys and girls) took part in the weekly Murph workout.

Congratulations to our middle school wrestler Ryleigh Jackson. Just 7 months ago, Ryleigh wrestled in her first ever wrestling match, and this weekend she traveled to Nebraska with the Ohio All-Star team to wrestle in the National Duals in Freestyle & Greco against the best girls in the country. Her team took home 1st place in both divisions.

Unfortunately for Ryleigh, she sustained a broken collarbone in her first match of the second day. Despite never wrestling a single freestyle, or greco match, Ryleigh showed a lot of courage by stepping in and wrestling. Ryleigh is constantly wrestling with older girls whenever she is given the opportunity. Just last month Ryleigh competed against an incoming senior who won the OHSAA State Title last season. We are all hoping for a speedy recovery for Ryleigh, and we are proud of her for representing the Claymont Mustangs this weekend!

Also, thank you to everyone who helped sponsor Ryleigh, and to all of those who coached and organized Team Ohio! National Champs!!!

WE ARE IN THE 2027 STATE DUALS!!!

We are excited to announce that we have been selected as one of the top 12 teams for next season, and we will be entered into the Ohio Girls Wrestling State Duals! Our girls have put in a tremendous amount of work in our first three years as a program to reach this point. The Claymont Girls should be proud, as they will be the second smallest school in the state duals.
