Tyrone wrestling will be sending two to the PIAA State Wrestling Championships this week in Hershey! Congratulations to the SW Regional qualifiers and good luck at States

Senior Kyle Scott - 189 pounds Champion
Sophomore Mason VanAllman - 160 pounds 7th

Kyle was the 189 pound Region Champion! With his win in the finals, he tied the all time Tyrone wins record. The record is currently held by AJ Schopp

Congrats to the Tyrone Swim Team!!

Day 2 District VI Championships

Freshman Emma Bonsell was the only female swimmer representing Tyrone in day 2 action. She dropped over a second in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke, finishing 11th and 7th respectively. Congratulations to the girls team on a great season.

Our boys started the day in 2nd place in the team standings. There were great swims in the 100 free from Owen Dunklebarger (6th), Cameron Gallagher (11th), and Eric Goodman (14th).

Freshman Matthew Eckenrode had an amazing 500 free swim with a 6+ second drop to take 2nd place.

In the 100 backstroke, we saw Patrick VanKleunen set a new school record of 56.18 and place 2nd! Career PR’s for Lucas Bonsell who finished 8th and Dylan Eckenrode, 17th.

Cameron Nelson had a career PR in the breaststroke placing 7th.

Finally, the meet came down to the 400 freestyle relay. Swimmers Lucas Bonsell, Cameron Gallagher, Patrick VanKleunen, and Owen Dunklebarger just needed a clean race to secure the team title, but they had other ideas. All 4 boys swam PR’s and claimed the district championship and a spot in the state meet in 3 weeks. They were also just shy if the school record by .2 seconds!

Congratulations to this great group of kids and coaches! On behalf of the boosters, we could not be more proud of the hard work, dedication, and mental toughness that they showed this weekend.

Shout out to Tyrone PD, the Hookies, Neptune, and Warriors Mark fire departments for bringing the team into town tonight!! 🖤🧡🦅🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️
