Football season is a long and grueling season for athletes. From early August to November, the physical task of padding up every weekday for practice and games and the mental task of game planning for the week’s opponent, it’s a grind. (Not to mention football camp in the summer and summer pride.)Football is not for the timid or the weak. Our season came to an end last night in the playoffs against a tough Ryan team on their home field. I’m thankful our team was filled with tough dudes (mentally and physically) who rose to the challenge every single day and played every game like it was their last even till the very end. Love our team and grateful I get to be around and coach them every day!
Also thankful to coach at a place with such a good tradition and support from parents and the school. I’m not about to write a book on here thanking every single person for what they did to contribute to the team this year. I will get to that in person. Just know that it takes a community to run a high school athletics program and we have one of the best.
One last thing. Coaching with family on the coaching staff and with coaching staff that have become family, it doesn’t get better than that. I am incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity Tyrone has given me.
Go Cats!
