Had Travis out for an evening trip and the goal was 25, We handled that quick. We culled through a pile of 10- 11” fish and let them grow for another day.
Fish were holding 12–22 FOW and staying active.
First time longpoling for Travis, so I knew he was in for it and it didn’t disappoint. He couldn’t believe the power and comfort of the Kistler Rods crappie series Kodiak, and those Speckled Hogs jigs stayed sharp and held up fish after fish. We had the chance to to entice a few bite by casting some crappie nuggies from Barracuda Baits LLC
He was also blown away by the clarity and screen size of the new Ballistic marine Ballistic 22 makes staying on fish for clients that much easier.
It was a blast, and we’re already looking forward to the next one! 🎣

Had Izzy on the boat today for a straight-up smackdown on Lake Palestine 🎣
First time ever crappie fishing… and we made it count. Started off in 8-12 then moved 12-18 and kept the bite rolling. Kistler Rods 14ft Kodiak and Speckled Hogs working hard today..
He’s headed home with a solid 25 and a memory he won’t forget.
Nothing better than seeing someone experience it for the first time and get hooked instantly. That’s what it’s all about. 💯

🎉 Happy New Year from Keep’N Net Reel! 🎉
Rolling into 2026 thankful for good times on the water, solid hooksets, and hoping for way fewer snags (we all know that one stump…). 😅
Huge thanks to everyone who followed along, booked trips, shared laughs, and trusted me to help create memories—not just catches. The best part of this journey isn’t the fish, it’s the moments, the stories, and the friendships that come with every trip.
Here’s to more laughs, tighter lines, smoother hooksets, and fewer “I swear it was a big one” stories.
Let’s keep Hookin’ Memories in 2026. 🎣✨
Happy New Year!

Winter is prime time for big crappie. ❄️🐟
Cold water concentrates fish, makes them more predictable, and significantly reduces fishing pressure. When bites come, they’re often quality slabs with serious weight.
If you’d like to get out and chase fish this winter, reach out to Keep’N Net Reel and let’s get a trip on the schedule. 🎣

🎄🎣 Merry Christmas from Keep’N Net Reel! 🎣🎄
We’re beyond thankful for an incredible year on the water—early mornings, cold hands, bent rods, and memories that’ll last a lifetime. From chasing slabs across East Texas to putting smiles (and fillets) in coolers, this journey is all about more than fish… it’s about Hookin’ Memories.
As you celebrate with family and friends, we hope your hearts are full, your blessings are many, and your freezer might even have a little room left 😄
Thank you to everyone who’s supported, booked trips, followed along, and believed in the dream. We can’t wait to see what the new year brings—more lakes, more laughs, and more big crappie.
From our boat to your home—Merry Christmas and God bless.

Here is what we did on our Christmas Eve. 🎣
🎄How about you?

I’ve been spending my free time away chasing big fish on new water, pushing myself to hunt down those hidden-gem lakes that don’t get talked about much.
New lakes mean new challenges — no history, no comfort zones, just maps, instincts, and time on the water. And that’s exactly why I do it. I’m always challenging myself to get better, not just for me, but for the people who trust me with their time — whether that’s on a guide trip or during tournament season.
Every new lake teaches something.
Every big fish found adds confidence.
And every challenge makes me sharper.
The goal is simple: keep learning, keep improving, and keep putting people on quality fish.
That’s why we are Keep’N Net Reel. 🎣🔥
