Doesn’t look like the sunflower fields will make it till September! might be a bust this year. On the bright side we are keeping the fat and happy for season!

Doc made it happen! We went on a combo hunting and fishing trip. It was everything a boy could ask for. A pile of fish and hogs. Pulling fish straight out of the water and into the frying pan. It’s folks like Doc that help keep the tradition of the outdoors alive in our next generation.

Pray for all of it. I grew up and practiced until recently to save my prayers for big things that carried a lot of weight. The idea was to not burden God with little things or meaningless things that didn’t warrant his attention. Now I pray for all of it, all the time. Pray my kids have a good day, that my wife is happy, that we get rain or have a sunny day. I talk with the big man a lot more these days. I think of it as building a relationship where one has been absent or lacking in the past. I don’t pretend to know the answers to life, but this sure has helped me when I’m doing good or when I’m not on top of my game.
