The 2022 Season is off to a great start despite the persistent wind we have been having this spring. When the weather gives us a little break we’ve been able to slip out and capitalize on the day. Both the full days and half day trips have been very productive. The full day trips have produced good variety including Black Seabass, Vermilion Snapper, Trigger Fish, Hogfish (White Grunt), Sea Brim, Almaco Jacks and plenty of big Red Snapper. Also, there has been no shortage of big Sharks, primarily Sandbar Sharks which we’ve been seeing not just solo but in large schools. As we get into May and June the water will began to warm and it becomes my personal favorite time of year to fish. We can expect to start seeing some of the larger species making more of an appearance on those full day trips including Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Amberjack, King Mackerel and Cobia. The half day trips have been fun with plenty of Black Seabass to keep us busy. We can expect to see more of the pelagic species on the half days as we progress, including King Mackerel, Barracuda, Spanish Mackerel and Cobia. May 1st marks the start of grouper season so the hunt for them will begin. I am looking forward to what lies ahead for this season. Don’t hesitate to give us a shout and book your trip! I look forward to fishing with you! 912-897-6759
