Fun tip: some ponds, lakes, or reservoirs, that have a dense population of smaller or stunted panfish typically have a small population of bigger than average adults. If you’re willing to sift through countless d***s that is. This is the kind of water I look for.

I love fishing new water, especially when it’s in pressured and the fish are dumb. 8 smallies, and 2 green fish. Every damn one was about this size. Most bit a jig, I caught a few on a 4” swim bait. Twas a good day.

I got out before the wind started this morning to catch me some Sacalait sandwiches. Every fish in the pond seemed to be biting until the wind and the white caps started.

Not even a mention!!!

The angler was in fact Mary Alice Hurt Taylor, who caught the big bass on October 22, 1948 weighing 10 lbs. 15 oz. The newly discovered details verify this legitimate record 75 years later.
