💜 E Street has always been an exceptional place of belonging, comradery, and great fun. 💜

If the walls could speak, they would have incredible stories to tell from over the years….from community dances, kids laughing, teams celebrating, the splash of people working out in the pool, coffee talk in the lobby…friendships made that will last a lifetime. Providing a home for the community to have equal access to health, fitness and educational programs has been our honor.

Today, United Way of South Central Idaho is turning a page for a new chapter to begin.

We are pleased to announce the sale of E Street Community Center to Slice Pickleball, with local ownership of the facility beginning today. This transition ensures that the venue will continue to be a vibrant hub for fitness and family activities.

Slice Pickleball plans to ensure operations continue and will transform the entire building into a world-class entertainment venue that will include an elevated food and beverage program. They also plan to make improvements to the facility immediately with as little disruption to activities as possible.

➡️ What does this mean for members?
Your E Street Community Center membership is on a month-to-month basis. If your typical payment is taken out on the first of the month, 10/31 will be your last day as an E Street Member. If your payment is taken out on the 15th of the month, you will be refunded the prorated amount from us in the next 30 days.

To continue your membership with Slice Pickleball, contact Slice via email [email protected] or visit their website on Friday 11/1/2024 at www.SlicePB.com. Current E Street member pricing will be $39 per month for full access to the gym and fitness classes. The facility will be closed today to transition to new ownership.

We had the chance to tell many of you in person this week as we held our surplus sale. This announcement was also sent to members in an email—but in the event it went to your spam folder—we wanted to let you know here.

We appreciate your incredible patience with the timing of this announcement and your amazing loyalty over the years.

💊 In 2023, over 2.5 million controlled substance prescriptions were dispensed in Idaho state alone. 💊

Did you know when left in a medicine cabinet, thrown away or flushed, unused prescriptions can be dangerous to people, animals, or the environment?

➡️ On Saturday, October 26, South Central Public Health District (SCPHD) is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and community partners all over the health district to host a local Drug Take Back Day collection event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the following locations:

• Twin Falls: Fred Meyer Parking Lot (705 Blue Lakes Blvd N)

• Kimberly: Kimberly-Hansen Police Department (242 Highway 30)

• Gooding: The Walker Center (605 11th Ave E)

• Jerome: Walmart Parking Lot (2680 S Lincoln Ave)

• Hailey: Hailey Police Department (311 Cedar St E)

• Heyburn: Heyburn Police Department (1800 J St)

Last year, deadly overdoses in Idaho hit a state record of 386 lives lost. Drug disposal is one of the most effective ways to prevent potential prescription misuse and/or overdose.

All prescription drugs will be accepted, as well as over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and veterinary medications. Take Back drop-off locations will also accept v**e pens, cartridges, or other e-cigarette devices (without the batteries in the device). Needles will not be accepted.

Help keep our community safe and healthy by dropping off your old medication on Saturday, October 26.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to unite in support of survivors, raise awareness, and take action to end the cycle of abuse--and is leading the way with a candlelight vigil tomorrow evening.

Domestic violence affects people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. By listening, educating ourselves, and advocating for change, we can help create a safer, more compassionate community for everyone.

Let's break the silence, offer support, and ensure that no one faces this issue alone.
