February brought massive storms that delivered cold-smoke powder days. The February 16-19 storm cycle brought over seven FEET of snow in just three days, forcing Sierra to shut down operations and dig out chairlifts. When the storm cleared, we skied the best powder day in years, slashing through bottomless low-density powder across the whole mountain.

December began slower than we'd like but left with a bang, and we were able to open Grandview, Nob Hill + Easy Rider for an all-time powder day opening on 12/27.

If the last few years have reminded us of anything, it's the importance of being stewards of the land we are so lucky to enjoy. Since the 2021 Caldor Fire, in partnership with the USFS, El Dorado County RDC, the Sugar Pine Foundation + our community, we have planted nearly 40,000 tree saplings at Sierra—20,000 in the last month—with many more to come. Actions done with love today for the next generation.

Registration is officially OPEN for 2026/27 Sierra Teams programs 🎉

Whether it’s mastering the fundamentals or bashing gates and sending jumps, kids ages 5-17 can join a winter-long program designed to take their skills to the next level while having fun all season.

Led by Sierra’s expert coaches, Teams offer specialized training in multiple disciplines for kids who are just discovering their passion for skiing and snowboarding, all the way to those wanting to claim a national title. Many Sierra athletes have progressed to collegiate programs, U.S. Ski Team, X Games and the Olympics!

🚨Operations Update🚨

The sun has been a little too enthusiastic this spring, and with near-record high temps + no new snow in the forecast, it’s time to call it. Our last day of operations will be this Sunday, March 22.

We plan to operate Grandview Express, Nob Hill + Easy Rider Express, conditions permitting, with beginner terrain limited to Easy Rider. This footprint may change based on conditions–please check the daily snow report (link in bio) for updates on lifts + terrain.

We hope to see you this Saturday + Sunday to send off our 79th season in style, with snow beach volleyball + DJ aprés each day. Thank you to our Sierra Fam for another great season together 💜
