Third Annual Tiger Claw Tomorrow!
"Everyone loves playing out here."
"The course is in great shape."
These are just two of the recent comments made about Tiger Claw DC here in Tuttle, OK. We want to thank those who have made this a dream come true.
It all started with a conversation between two high school friends (Austin Hughes and Bobby Williams Jr.), now very involved in different ways in the community where they grew up.
"We need an 18-hole disc golf course."
And that started the proverbial ball rolling.
First, the City of Tuttle approved the use of floodway land and existing land at what is now Harten Hembleton Memorial Park (a.k.a. Tuttle's Soccer Complex and Walking Track).
Then, the fundraising began for the project. Some twenty businesses and individual families believed in those willing to make the project a reality.
From there, a small group of local disc golf players and dreamers began work. Brett Yackeschi, Jeff Diaz, and Timmy Stuart were part of the small nucleus of a larger work crew that included the equipment resources of Duncan Glass & Mirror, Inc (Daniel Diaz Sr.) and the Mike Paul Family (Preston Paul). You will see the donors/sponsors below. Countless other folks have helped work on the course and provide ongoing maintenance - without which we would not be able to offer a high-quality experience for those who drive to Tuttle to play and all of our locals. You know who you are, and words can't express our gratitude.
Tiger Claw officially opened in March of 2024. I say officially because we set up several pop-up tournaments to showcase what was to come.
This will be our fifth B-Tier event at Tiger Claw. We are grateful to the disc golf network that introduced us to Jason Schwake. Jason has been our TD for these events and brings a long history of involvement in Disc Golf around the Country.
Our dream is still alive. We plan to add another 18-hole course in the future, which would allow us to offer A-Tier events here in Tuttle.
We will begin a second round of fundraising later this year. If you or your business would like to be involved, reach out to us, and we will welcome your investment.
