Blue Buoy has been a big part of my son's life since he was 8 months old and took his first lesson. He is now 20 and through all the years of swimming at Blue Buoy, he developed a natural ease in the water. He swam on Varsity Water Polo his freshman year and medaled in high school swimming. I credit this to the way Blue Buoy teaches. They have an excellent approach and philosophy that makes a huge difference compared to other swim schools. Not only the technique and style with which they teach, but the love the owners have for the students and families, makes this the top choice for learning to swim. I highly recommend Blue Buoy if you want your child to love and respect the water.

Paige certainly loves her lessons at Blue Buoy. She is one of our "legacy" families, as Johnny taught her mother a few years ago😎❤️. Blue Buoy Family Swim School celebrates it's 70th anniversary this month and we are so grateful for the many hundreds of 2nd, 3rd and now 4th generation students. "Great beginnings...lead to great finishes!"

Saturday afternoon Blue Buoy Family Swim School held its annual Water Safety Challenge. Dozens of swimmers demonstrated their Water competency including their ability to self rescue, backfloat, Swim distances up to 200 yards, and learn an assisted rescue (reach, throw don't go). Parents and swimmers alike learned CPR from firefighters from Orange County Fire Authority and also how to properly fit and Swim in a Coast Guard approved lifejacket. Special thanks to some of our elected official's representatives;former Tustin mayor Al Murray, from Supervisor Don Wagner, Michael Tao from Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie Norris and Kaikea Willinski, from Congresswoman Young Kim. Many volunteers helped make the day a huge success including members of the American Legeon Post 227, Miss Tustin Janelle Huerta and Samantha Arroyo got in the pool and volunteered to be rescued. Special thanks to Julie Lopiccolo and husband Jonathan St.Clair from the Jasper Ray Foundation. And of course our amazing Blue Buoy teachers and water watchers.
