StarLight Farms and Feed

StarLight Farms and Feed We are a laid back trying and boarding facility that also carries Seminole Feed. Once you are comfortable riding, we will gladly take you out on trail.

We offer beginner-experienced horsemanship and riding lessons...including grooming, saddling, handling as well as riding. We are not a "show" barn but we do compete it NATRC (Long distance Competitive Trail). We like to make sure we have well rounded horses, so we train them a little bit in multiple disciplines. We specialize in regaining a rider's confidence and helping horses and riders overcome their anxiety. Please contact us for available riding times.

Happy kids, happy horses, and a few new tricks up their sleeves! Every ride is a chance to learn, laugh, and grow 🀠✨

I love this girl! (Willys Pokerface aka: Lady) She was a Rockstar this weekend at the ACHRC show at the new Ag Center in Alex City. Through torrential downpours, thunder and lightning, she held it together and performed beautifully.

Who needs the Olympics when you’ve got horse camp? Our riders tackled the ultimate challenge: one hand on the reins, one hand holding a spoon, and an egg determined to make an early exit. The horses stayed patient, the campers stayed determined, and breakfast made a few unexpected appearances in the arena.

It was an incredibly HOT πŸ”₯ day on Saturday, June 13th, at the Tri County Riding Club show in Wetumpka. Despite the scorching temperatures, our competition team performed exceptionally well and had a fantastic time!

SUMMER HORSE CAMP 2026 β˜€οΈπŸ΄

DAY 5:

Our final day at Summer Camp kicked off with the usual barn chores. Then, we had a quick visit from the vet for one of our ponies (no worries, he’s doing great!). After that, students had a chance to wrap up any crafts or worksheets they hadn’t finished. We wrapped up the day with the parent presentation, where each student got to share the skills they’d picked up with their horses over the week.

We had such an amazing week and made some wonderful memories! Looking forward to seeing you all again next year for SUMMER HORSE CAMP 2027!

DAY 3:

We kicked off the day with some barn chores and tidying up around the barn. Next, they gathered their horses and had a blast balancing an egg in a spoon while ridingβ€”they absolutely love this! After lunch, Nancy Johnson Fuller, our farrier, gave a presentation. Then, we tackled our horse hoof anatomy worksheet. The day wrapped up with tie-dyeing our camp shirts and painting some pots.

Day 4:

We started the day with some barn chores, of course! Then, everyone gathered their horses and made their way to the arena. We spent some time getting our horses desensitized and even played a fun riding game. After lunch, we tackled the saddle and bridle worksheets and got to know the terminology. The girls wrapped up the day by finishing up their pots.

SUMMER HORSE CAMP 2026 β˜€οΈπŸ΄

DAY 1:

We began the day with barn chores and farm tasks. Afterward, they rounded up their horses and engaged in groundwork activities to refresh their skills. After lunch, they worked on activity sheets focused on my dream horse and horse terminology. The day concluded with a fun craft where they created customized water bottles to take home for the rest of the week.

DAY 2:

We kicked off the day with some barn chores and cleaning! After that, they saddled up their horses and started working on getting them desensitized. We practiced crossing the scary tire, those scary plastic bags, and riding while holding hands. After lunch, we dove into some more horse terminology. To wrap up the day, we made horse shoe wind chimes and bracelets.
