The Alabama Wrestling Club qualified 5 wrestlers for their 1st appearance at the 25th Annual NCWA National Championships. Impressive showing from our Bama wrestlers as they competed against tough competition in full brackets with a total of 64 teams in attendance!
Results for the tournament:
💪🏼Tyler Husko @ 157 went 2-2
💪🏼Kyle Serro @ 174 went 1-2
💪🏼Callen Morley @ 184 went 1-1 and had to withdraw w/ injury
💪🏼Dane Tsao @ 235 went 4-2 dropping a tough match in the blood round to place and gain All-American status to a tough opponent from Iowa State.
💪🏼Ryan Keepers HWT was unable to compete due to academic responsibilities.

Not being able to travel and compete on the mat this year has been tough, but wrestlers know all about tough. We’ve been able to stay involved and on the mat thanks to Summit Kickboxing and their wrestling program! This is Brooks, and he had the opportunity to complete his first full season a couple weeks ago. (Also the son of our Advisor Brett Riley!) Even though it didn’t end up like he wanted, we’re all inspired and encouraged by his love for the sport as we have to wait for the opportunity to compete once again. Our 157 lb wrestler Lane is one UA wrestler who has dedicated his time to growing the sport in our community and we are excited to be able to represent The University of Alabama ourselves next season.
