WHAT LANE KIFFIN DID IS EXACTLY WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY TODAY.
Some of us were raised on something called the Good Book, and in the Good Book it CLEARLY says a man should keep his word, honor his commitments, and not go running off every time a bigger paycheck waves at him like a waitress at Ho***rs.
But Lane?
No sir.
This man has been hopping jobs since the Bush administration.
Raiders… Tennessee… USC… FAU… Ole Miss…
It’s like he’s allergic to staying in one place longer than a crockpot takes to heat up.
And Ole Miss fans kept saying, “He’s changed! He’s matured! He’s a new man!”
Well I don’t know what man they were looking at, but it sure wasn’t the one the rest of us watched sneaking out of town in the middle of the night like a teenager who dented Dad’s truck.
You’d think by now folks would OPEN THEIR EYES.
A leopard doesn’t change its spots, and a Kiffin doesn’t change his résumé — he just adds to it.
It breaks my heart, truly.
I’m PRAYING for Oxford tonight.
A community is hurting, kids are confused, and a whole fanbase got blindsided because they trusted somebody who’s been giving out red flags since flip phones were still popular.
I’m not perfect — the Good Book tells me that every day — but at least I know better than to pretend a man with Lane’s track record is suddenly gonna turn into Coach Dad of the Year.
All I’m saying is this:
If you plant a tree in rocky soil, don’t be surprised when it doesn’t stay rooted.
God bless every Ole Miss fan picking up the pieces tonight.
And may we all learn a lesson from this:
LOYALTY MATTERS.
Even if some folks forgot.
