A little Saturday morning appreciation post!!
Hi everyone! I will introduce myself to all of you. My name is Jordan Wright and I am The Exchange Pools treasurer and fundraising chairperson! We've been over here working our butts off this end of summer season, as you can see by the photos below. I wanted to take this time to give some appreciation shout outs to those that have made these end of season repairs / renovations possible!
To our amazing Secretary Lisa Hartman! She has been side by side with me most days pushing to get this done. Lisa has been on our board for over 20 years!! She's really been such a backbone to our community with her dedication and reliability to making sure we get to open every single year. She is newly retired and ready to take on the next upgrade project and for that I am thankful 💙
To our President Melinda Hopper 💙 - She has also been here side by side with me, spending hours painting, cleaning, pulling water out for prepping and staying until after dark to make sure the epoxy paint that sets in 4 hours gets used in time! My right hand lady, that I'm so thankful to have started this volunteer position with!
To our board member Sara Watson! This girl continues to surprise me with her dedication and willingness to help when she gets any free time to herself. Her commitment to the pool does not go unnoticed and I'm thankful to have gotten your help all last Saturday to have made such big progress in this renovation! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
To our secret behind the scenes helper - Gary Mordan. You have been such a blessing to this community that hardly anyone realizes and I want our community to see you. See Gary answers whenever we call with whatever crazy situation we have! Toilets don't flush? Call Gary. Water needs pumped out for prepping? Call Gary. Grass needs mowed? Call Gary. Holes in the fiberglass that feel unrepairable? Cry... then call Gary!! Thank you so much for sticking through this repair / renovation with us. You have given us another look at things and helped us think outside the box in so many ways and I am sooooo thankful for you.
Lastly, Adam Kocher! Another kind of behind the scenes helper. We are thankful for you squeezing us into your already loaded schedule. Adam is currently working on repairing the floor drains in the deep end so we can better circulate the water in that area of the pool. He also winterizes our pumps for us, gives us the inside scoop on what materials we need to make the pool operational and just overall has been a blessing to our group.
If anyone is looking to get involved, we could use a good few more sets of hands! These last 2 weeks would not have been possible without any of the people I mentioned in this post and it takes a village to keep community pools running! We will be having our monthly meeting Tomorrow 9/20 at 530pm at the pool pavilion. Please send us a message if you'd like to attend!
