Millington, TN – The Mirimichi G.C. is a beautiful golf course built to attract the PGA, and it can be very difficult. On Saturday with winds gusting to 25 mph, greens running 13 on stimpmeter, and wet fairways, the difficulty was off the charts as the overall scoring was way up.

Champ Flight - With both players posting 76 in regulation play, the Champ flight went to a playoff between Bennett
Secrest and Ed McDugle, with Ed winning on the first hole. Ed is 2 out of 3 on playoffs this season and is the current point’s leader in champ flight. Chris Schlette grabbed 3rd place with an 81.

A' Flight - Three year tour vet Thomas McMurdy won his first tourney of the year with a very nice 84. Congrats Thomas! Jim Cande shoots 85 for second, with Keith Nuckolls taking 3rd with an 86.

B' Flight - Rick Kidder’s 84 was good enough to beat Juan Castillo by two strokes and take the B’ flight trophy for his first win of the season. Danny McDougal’s 91 was good for third place.

C' Flight - Tom Horton ignored the conditions, and carded a very impressive 79 blow away the C’ flight! Welcome to the B’ Flight Tom! Greg Cryder’s 86 and Dennis Sensing’s 91 were good for 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

D' Flight - John Bennett’s grabbed first place with a 97, and kept the season long points title within reach. Trey Lindsey took 2nd with 101, and John Conlee takes 3rd with a 103 respectively.

B & C closest to pin Winner #13 – Shane Springer

D closest to pin Winner #11 – Trey Lindsey

Longest Drive Winner #18 – Juan Castillo

Putting Contest Winner – Maurice Coleman

Our next tournament will be the season finale at Plantation G.C. in Olive Branch, MS on September 22 & 23. It is a 2 day major which will decide 3 of our flight champions for the season. We will also have our putting contest playoffs. Food will be served and we will present tournament and flight championship trophies as well. All golfers with USGA handicap are welcome to sign up for this tourney. All members need to come to this tourney and invite a potential future member. See you there!
